This ant incubator is a new tool for semi-professional ant breeding and protecting your valuable ants from temperature fluctuations and their consequences.
It features a temperature controller with a digital display and two storage compartments. The temperature can be set and adjusted as needed. The device can both cool (down to approximately 18-25°C below ambient temperature) and heat (up to approximately 60°C). The adjustable temperature range is approximately 5°C-60°C. Therefore, it can also be used for overwintering native ants.
As an option, the ant incubator can be powered not only by mains electricity but also during transport via a car cigarette lighter socket (12V DC).

Advantages:
You're often faced with the question of how to store ants for hibernation easily and at the right temperature. The refrigerator is always too full, the balcony might be too cold for the animals, and the cellar is also cramped, or you simply don't have enough control.
Here's the solution: You can either let the animals overwinter in the incubator with our nesting tube supports in test tubes—in this case, even up to 100 colonies at a time—or with the complete ANTCUBE Formicarium system. For example, our ANTCUBE Combi fits perfectly indoors. But a starter kit with a 20x20x10 cm foraging area and two 20x20 cm nests would also provide ample space.
Storage and transport by car, for example, during a swarm, a move, or when transporting particularly sensitive leafcutter ants, are also possible.
Practical test tube holders (nesting tubes) are available in three different sizes. Here is our recommendation:

The space in the incubator is suitable for:
Up to 24 colonies in a 115x115x55 transparent collection box.
For ants in foundation tubes, we recommend nesting tube racks for storage.
These fit inside:
– Nesting tube rack for 16mm tubes = 12 pieces or 120 tubes of 16mm diameter.
– Rack for 18mm tubes = 12 pieces or 120 tubes of 18mm diameter.
– Rack for 25mm tubes = 9 pieces or 54 tubes of 25mm diameter.

– Do not place in direct sunlight or near a heat source, as fluctuations in external temperature will affect the internal temperature.
– Install in a dry location with as constant a temperature as possible.
