Ideal for long-term ant observation, this pack contains the new Folia ormia ant farm: an optimized, high-quality designed to support the development of your Camponotus ants. Its design is inspired by an elm leaf and incorporates the features we value at Fourmiculture , including the use of a mineral substrate and an efficient humidification with a wet/dry zone.

You will also find a connecting branch as well as a practical and ultra-flat harvesting area for placing food for your colony and an anti-escape oil to apply under the transparent frame.

The colony is easy to raise and feeds approximately three times a week on the provided powdered honeydew, which should be diluted in milk or water. It enjoys the sweet nectar, which it consumes in large quantities and shares with the other worker bees, also to feed the larvae before they spin their cocoons. Development continues year-round in this colorful and sizable species.

Ecology, ethics and respect for living things

This range, made in France from PLA (a renewable, plant-based, and non-petroleum-based material), contains a non-invasive colony, safe for biodiversity (although we remind you that it is forbidden to release it into the wild), and includes the usual health information sheets from Fourmiculture. The colony, of Asian origin, was acquired from a French supplier.
