This is a natural product that we have refined after numerous tests in our laboratory and transformed into a food that is highly palatable to ants. Indeed, unprocessed aphid honey, in its original concentrated form, is not well tolerated by ants and their metabolism.

Our honeydew was harvested from the wild, unpolluted mountain forests of Bulgaria. Honeydew is only produced for a very limited period, about two months in the summer, making it quite rare. Due to the specific characteristics of the forest soil and climate, vital nutrients are stored in the tree leaves, which are absorbed by aphids. This is what makes this honeydew mixture so desirable to ants.

Description:
Honeydew, unlike flower honey, comes from the secretions of plant-sucking insects such as aphids. Honeydew is a preferred food source for many insects, including ants, bees, and even bumblebees. Bees and bumblebees collect it from the leaves or needles of various trees. Ants like Lasius niger regularly guard aphids. They even defend them against predators and transport them to new shoots.

Honeydew is valued by ants primarily because of its somewhat diverse composition. The main sugars in honeydew are sucrose and fructose, but it also contains, in smaller quantities, maltose, trehalose, melezitose, raffinose, and other oligosaccharides. Besides sugars and water, honeydew also contains amino acids, minerals, trace elements, adenosine phosphates, and other vital ingredients such as vitamins.

Uses:
For honey-eating ant species (Meliphagidae). Not suitable for Messor ants.
This is a sweet supplementary food. Also offer your ants protein-rich foods.
It can be offered to active ants. As humidity reduces the sugar concentration and a fermentation process begins, the food should be replaced every 3 days. Thoroughly clean the bowl or tube before reuse. Once
opened, the package should be tightly resealed until the date indicated (expiration date).
