Storage at the Hive:
All our products are stored in a warehouse near Lyon, shared by several e-commerce companies and organized like a highly optimized anthill. The products we manufacture or purchase from our suppliers are centralized. With each delivery, they are identified, recorded in a computer system, and stored in designated compartments based on their dimensions. The online store is then always up-to-date with the actual available stock. The warehouse is closed to the public, insured, and under video surveillance. Costs are shared to benefit from professional tools such as a workflow management software normally reserved for the largest websites…
Shipping time:
- Items marked "in stock" shipped within 24 hours (often even faster).
- The ants are carefully prepared, fed, packaged, and delivered to the logistics team on the next shipment, usually the week after purchase. For urgent delivery, please call us.
- Made -to-order" equipment must be manufactured and supplied to the warehouse, which indicates a variable lead time.
Important: For their safety, we do not ship ants when temperatures are above 29°C or below 5° C , either when leaving Grenoble or upon arrival at your address. We will hold your order and care for the ants until the temperature allows for shipment. For faster express shipping or shipping with insulated packaging, please contact us.
Order preparation:
Yeepa! We've just received your order. Our team will get to work preparing your package in no time. First, we'll check the contents of your order and select your items. They'll be packed in recyclable cardboard, cushioned with paper, and sealed with starch-reinforced paper tape. The entire process is filmed to catch any mistakes during preparation.
The package is then stamped, and the carriers' trucks arrive in quick succession around 3 p.m. to collect the day's shipments. Thanks to the worker ants at Fourmiculture, shipping takes place the same day before 3 p.m. in most cases.
Delivery of your package:
We deliver your package via the carrier of your choice:
– La Poste (bubble envelope or Colissimo), delivery time after dispatch: 48 hours.
– DPD with signature confirmation, delivery time after dispatch: approximately 24 hours
– Chronopost with signature confirmation, delivery time after dispatch: guaranteed 24 hours
– Mondial Relay, delivery time after dispatch: 3-4 days
– Transport Mazet, delivery time after dispatch: 3-5 days on pallet by truck by appointment for fragile equipment.
Reminder: The indicated timeframe corresponds to the carrier's delivery time. It only applies from the moment the package has been shipped.
And what about the ants in all of this?
Our ant farm is located in Grenoble, the capital of the Alps and a major center of innovation. We care for the ants weekly, feeding them and preparing ant orders. Each week, we deliver the ants ordered the previous week to the warehouse. Our logistics team prepares shipments of ants, as well as mixed orders containing both equipment and ants.
Shipments during winter or summer may be delayed to ensure the ants' safety. We also offer optional insulated packaging for customers in a hurry.
