Description
We recommend using low-mineral, unpolluted, and unscented water to humidify your ant farms. This will preserve their absorbency for longer and prevent limescale buildup.
Furthermore, if you have any doubt about the chlorine or pollution in your water, pure bottled water will be an excellent choice for watering your ants and preparing your food.
You can also use reverse osmosis or demineralized water, which can be found in pet stores, sometimes even for free. Alternatively, feel free to use a mineral water such as Evian.
Note: Limestone comes from the calcium found in tap water and the most mineral-rich bottled waters. Excellent for human bones, it's not welcome in your anthills and of little use to the chitinous skeleton of ants.
Evian water is among the least mineral-rich, along with Volvic, Vittel, Mont Blanc, Mont Roucous, etc. It originates from the peaks of the French Alps, from rainwater, snowmelt, and glaciers. This naturally demineralized water then passes through the rocks and sandy soils of the mountains, where it is naturally filtered and only slightly enriched with minerals before being collected at Evian-les-Bains.
We offer Evian water in a very nice 33cl glass bottle, suitable for home delivery.
For ants: Store at room temperature to avoid thermal shock and condensation in the anthill.
For your guests: keep refrigerated, serve very chilled and consume within 3 days of opening.
