Description

Created by Fourmiculture and our team, this innovatively designed Tube Holder is both simple and remarkably effective for successfully establishing small colonies in glass tubes without risk of breakage. It can be used even with just the queen to hold and present the tube, keeping the cotton plug in place until the first worker bees arrive. It then facilitates feeding and colony management during its first few months thanks to a very practical magnetic feeding area.

Operation of the Breeding Tube Holder:

Our Foundation Tube Holder features a clever system for holding the breeding tube securely in place. This system is made possible by the thermoforming of the rear section, which maintains tension against the tube and recesses it 2mm into a specially designed housing. A simple "click" allows the tube to be inserted and removed as needed, without any wear parts or risk of breakage.

With its clean and elegant design, our Foundation Tube Holder is a slim and stylish creation that allows ants to forage in the designated area, eliminating the need for you to place food inside the tube. Now equipped with the Magneto Pro 9 standard, it is compatible with Fourmiculture magnetic feeders, allowing you to safely supply the colony with nectar or fresh water from outside the foraging area.

Which colony should be raised in a tube with a tube holder?

All species up to 16mm in length are compatible and can be raised in the rearing tube (a test tube filled one-third with water held in place by cotton), from a single queen to several dozen or even hundreds of workers. The colony will maintain its humidity level for several months before needing to be moved to a new tube or an artificial ant farm.

Integrated feeding area:

The presence of a feeding area accessible via a ventilated lid facilitates breeding and supports colony development. Made from a single piece of material, the lid fits snugly and is completely airtight. Food can be placed on a tray inside as needed.

The vents are fine enough to keep even the smallest species, including Pheidole, contained.

A miniature, handcrafted set, each one different, adds our artistic touch and a natural-looking backdrop to explore. It includes plants, pebbles, flowers, artificial grass…

A laser engraving with our brand on the side panel completes the authentication of our work.

A 9mm connecting hole is also provided to connect Tube Holders together with a tube for greater development or to carry out a move (for this purpose, the tube can also be emptied directly into the new nest).

The founding of a colony, a delicate step, is thus greatly facilitated.
