An improved red filter to protect your ants: the Hyperfilter for Quadricity and its Modules.
Ants thrive in ambient light. However, in bright light conditions or during your workday, you can choose to place your ants in darker conditions using an innovative optical filter.
Made from innovative fluorescent Plexiglas®, the Hyperfilter absorbs light and transmits some of it through fluorescence at its edge. The remaining light that passes through the filter is barely visible to ants, which cannot distinguish red and therefore feel protected.
The Hyperfilter for Quadricity simply sits on top of the ant farm. The bolt and hatch locations are pre-positioned and do not interfere with their use. The humidification and feeding areas remain accessible, while the ants are still easily visible within the chambers.
It is even possible to superimpose 2 Hyperfilters for even greater efficiency.

Indeed, a red filter is commonly applied to ant nests containing ants of a species prone to stress. This makes the ants feel protected, which can improve their comfort and development. The red filter used is usually made of simple plastic, or at best, red acrylic. Our Hyperfilter red filter is superior because it uses fluorescent Plexiglas, whose superior transparency allows for better observation of the ants.
Important: The ant nest should never be exposed to direct sunlight, even with a Hyperfilter. Sunlight should always be minimized. Observation tip: Ants are less sensitive to artificial light.
