Refillable tube – 18x180mm Model 848, reusable and Made in France from thick, high-quality glass. Numerous improvements allow for the long-term cultivation of small to medium-sized drilling colonies with a higher success rate than traditional tubes.

A huge advantage : compared to the plaster tube made in China, it lasts for several weeks or months because it contains liquid water, not damp sand! And it can be refilled later with a special syringe. No risk of losing the colony due to forgetfulness.

Durable composite plug: discourages most boring worker bees. Sufficient to prevent digging in most cases, especially for medium-sized colonies. For 100% resistance against the most aggressive and numerous species, a "super-reinforced" option with an integrated stainless steel grid is available.

Anti-mold and anti-mite treatment: an exclusive treatment repels parasitic mites and combats mold to keep your colony healthy and protect it from pests. The treatment applied here is less intensive than that of the high-end models with laser marking.

Intermediate humidity: this comes from an absorbent cement stopper and diffuses into the air of the tube. It is suitable for larger species (Messor, Camponotus, etc.).

Non-compartmentalized tube, open along its entire length.

The recurring problems with the tubes we tested are: static electricity, a water refill system but too short a battery life and dried-out dead ants, foams that are too fragile or a fragile resin plaster slab, cotton that gets moldy, poorly managed humidity, tubes that are too small for Messor, and a thin tube.

Instructions for use:

1. Fill with water using a 0.33mm needle available in pharmacies or the special syringe on our website.
2. Seal the filling hole with Scotch Crystal tape.
3. Place the queen or colony in the tube with a water reservoir. Connect the tube to a foraging area and leave the end slightly open for good ventilation.
4. Change the tape every 15 days to allow air to circulate and enable the cement slab to absorb water from the reservoir.

Attention :

• Dry the glass thoroughly to ensure the adhesive adheres properly, and use only Scotch crystal for its long-term quality.
• Do not heat the tube at the cement or water level, heat it on the ant side.
