Description

This refillable, reusable, and French-made tube is crafted from thick, high-quality glass. Numerous improvements allow for the long-term cultivation of a small colony with a higher success rate than traditional tubes or those from China, which often suffer from inconsistent humidity control and composition.

Anti-mite and anti-mold treatment: a treatment integrated into the reconstituted stone has a repellent effect against mites and limits the development of mold.

With a progressive slab: present along the entire length of the tube, it diffuses humidity gradually and more effectively than compartmentalized or simple glass tubes. This allows ants to live on a natural stone substrate and choose their preferred humidity level depending on their location. It gives excellent results with most species! The space is better utilized for the ants; they are no longer stuck to the damp cotton.

Which species are suitable? The 16x160mm size is particularly well-suited to young colonies, preferably of medium-sized species, but is suitable for species ranging from Pheidole to Camponotus. It can also be very suitable for Messor, which will use all the space for living and will forage for ants, benefiting from the higher humidity. However, the use of a foraging area is then essential for removing waste and storing seeds outside the tube.

Instructions for use, important :

Place the queen or colony in the tube. Plug the end with cotton to allow air circulation. Tighten it enough so the ants can't attack it. Order our special syringe (0.3mm needle) or use a needle from a pharmacy to refill it with water, and seal the refill hole with Scotch Crystal tape (the weakest brand). Caution: thoroughly dry the tube before applying the tape.

Remove the Scotch tape approximately twice a month to allow water to moisten the slab.
