An entirely new generation of anthills.
In 2022, we started the development of a new generation of anthills. The first model to benefit from this research work is the Minora Model 4. Only the general design has been preserved, but everything else has changed. In this article, you learn more about why and how we created this innovative and totally different generation of ant farm.
A long evolution for the good of the ants.
The first Minora anthill models were sold in 2015. From the outset, we have been working to improve the breeding conditions for ants rather than remaining a simple equipment dealer, which is often a source of disappointment. This model was drawn by hand then worked on the computer, cut on digital machines in Plexiglas and worked by hand for the finish. We have been able to help hundreds of schools and individuals successfully raise their ants in a Minora anthill.
Generation 2.7 was composed as follows:
- Design of an efficient humidifier based on floor plaster,
- Overlay of Plexiglas plates for a very aesthetic finish
- Plexiglas window
- Connection system with hatches and flexible pipe.
Now a total break: generation 2.8
Generation 2.8 uses scratch-resistant glass instead of Plexiglas, thick and solid with foliage: like a windshield, the glass remains more solid in the event of an impact for safety.
Instead of Plexiglas overlays, Generation 2.8 prefers HDPE (high density polyethylene like food bottles and flasks) for the base.
Machined from a single piece in this material, the anthill is more stable, it is no longer necessary to use so many bolts and we can thus opt for an innovative magnetic fixing.
Inside, we use absorbent concrete developed especially for ants by Fourmiculture after several months of research and testing. This porous stone-like material demonstrates overall superior growth and reduced soiling.
Finally, we have adopted a magnetic attachment also for the accessories. This way, no parts are likely to fall out if a child turns the anthill over, and it is easier and more reliable to add elements, without a flexible hose that ants sometimes manage to attack.
This extensive research has made it possible to produce a 100% French product, produced locally in a workshop supporting the work of disabled people, from raw materials that are also French. Fourmiculture is thus a designer, manufacturer and distributor of quality equipment for the good of the ants and the success of your breeding.
