______________________________________________________________________________________________
Camponotus piceus is a species quite similar to other Camponotus in its way of life and its diet (honeydew, insects) but smaller (although much larger than a Lasius), rather easy to breed if the food conditions and temperature are good.
A nest with average humidity and a wintering of 2 months at 10-15°C are necessary.
Rather rare species, ideal to welcome an original species without great difficulty of breeding.
Size of the Camponotus piceus queen: about 1cm
Size of minor workers: 3-4mm
Size of major workers: 8mm
Rearing temperature: 27°C during the day.
Wintering: 2 to 3 months at 10-15°C
