This expandable starter kit, for all types of leafcutter ants, contains, in addition to the perfectly matched formicarium, the appropriate equipment for breeding this specific type of ant. The 20cm cubes allow comfortable handling during feeding and cleaning. The large connections (27mm) and tubes not only make it easy to observe ants, but they also allow the animals to transport large pieces of leaves. Stainless steel mesh inserts provide good ventilation and are resistant to attack. Even large colonies of aggressive leafcutter ants are unable to attack them. The heavy-duty pipe fittings are also completely mandible-proof. The thermometer and hygrometer display are inside the system, without disturbing the ants and allowing easy monitoring of climatic conditions. If necessary, the humidity can be increased with the spray bottle.

Our advice: first use a small module (homemade possible, poorly ventilated plastic box, plaster floor, cup over the mushroom to form a micro-climate, stable temperature of 22°C). Once the colony is well developed, install it in the breeding kit and enjoy magnificent observations.

The kit is composed of a tank to raise the colony with the mushroom until a growth of several thousand workers and a large volume (20x20cm). In this tank, the hygrometry must be maintained at its highest level.
