This breeding system for ants is remarkable for its use of a refillable water tube (wet plastered natural surface) and ventilated hunting area. The tube is reliably held in the rearing system by a seal. The latter will connect to the hunting area by a transparent staircase.

The ants will develop in the Nest with spacious plastered tube and choose the most suitable humidity level according to the chosen location. According to the needs of the ants, they will come to explore the integrated hunting area in order to collect the food placed by you. We recommend placing the food on a dish.

The Nest with cast tube can be refilled with unlimited water, ideally using a syringe not supplied (preferably with a needle).

The tube ant rearing system is an old and recognized technique. It is here improved in a modern way by the addition of plaster, a water refill system and a hunting area connected to the tube. The dimensions of the breeding tube allow large species of ants to feel comfortable, as well as small species with strong development. Particularly suitable for exotic species.

The fact that this Nest with plastered tube uses these special test tubes is a guarantee of success for the breeding of ants: a gain in comfort is ensured thanks to a natural material appreciated by ants. Moisture management is also improved and more progressive. This Nest with cast tube has been tested on Pheidole pallidula, Messor barbarus and many species of exotic ants native to Asia.

The Nest with plaster tube is assembled with rubber bands and is delivered flat.

Not compatible with ant set up by us: your colony (sold separately) will usually come in a separate tube. Plan the move yourself, emptying the ants into the plaster tube or emptying them into the hunting area. In the latter case, check if the ants fit well in the plastered tube within 24 hours. Otherwise, push them inside.
