Honeydew Powder for Ants 25g

Description

This honeydew powder, to be diluted in organic milk or water, can be used to feed the species we sell in this shop, with the exception of Messor and Aphaenogaster senilis. All species that enjoy sweet liquids will find in this powder a rich and complete food source, replacing almost any other food without risk of deficiency.

Formulated by Fourmiculture using easily digestible animal proteins and carbohydrates, this powder is ingestible by ants because the particle size is perfectly suited to their highly selective mouthparts. Containing a wide range of amino acids, our powdered food closely resembles aphid honeydew and will allow larvae to thrive.

Thanks to its sweet taste, it will be extremely appreciated by most species of ants who will hasten to consume it and exchange it through trophallaxis.

Instructions for using powdered honeydew:

Dilute a small amount of powder in organic fruit juice, milk or water,

Mix thoroughly. The resulting mixture should be quite liquid. Add organic honey if the ants have a poor appetite.

Distribute a drop of food onto a feeder using a syringe. Tip: Take a 2cm square of aluminum foil, hollow it out in your hand to form a small cup, and place the diluted honeydew powder inside. For small species such as Pheidole pallidula, add a few strands of cotton (without absorbing it all) to prevent drowning.

This powdered honeydew is ideally complemented by foods rich in vitamins (organic fruit juice).

– Powder storage: approximately 1 year in a dry place, at a moderate temperature and away from light.
– The resulting liquid can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.

– To prevent bacterial growth, thoroughly clean and remove any uneaten food after 24 hours. Also thoroughly clean the equipment used for preparation.

– Protein: approximately 17%, Fat: ≤9%, Carbohydrates: 75%
