Description

This powdered honeydew to be diluted in organic milk or water is used to feed the species that we sell on this shop except Messor and Aphaenogaster senilis in particular. All species that appreciate sweet liquids will find in this powder a rich and complete diet replacing almost any other food source without risk of deficiency.

Formulated by Fourmiculture based on easily assimilated animal proteins and carbohydrates, this powder can be ingested by ants because the size of the powder particles is adapted to that of their particularly selective oral system. Containing a wide range of amino acids, our powdered food is close to aphid honeydew and will allow the larvae to develop well.

Thanks to its sweet taste, it will be extremely appreciated by most species of ants who will hasten to consume it and exchange it by trophallaxis.

How to use honeydew powder:

Dilute a small volume of powder in organic fruit juice, milk or water,

Mix carefully. The mixture obtained must be very liquid. Add organic honey if ants lack appetite.

Dispense a drop of food onto a feeder using a syringe. Tip: take a 2cm square of aluminum foil, dig it in your hand to form a cup and place the diluted honeydew powder inside. For small species such as Pheidole pallidula, add a few strands of cotton (without absorbing everything) to avoid drowning.

This powdered honeydew is ideally supplemented with foods rich in vitamins (organic fruit juice).

– Storage of the powder: approximately 1 year in a dry place, at moderate temperature and away from light.
– Storage in the refrigerator of the liquid obtained for a few days.

– To avoid the development of bacteria, clean well and remove any uneaten food after 24 hours. Also thoroughly clean the equipment used for the preparation.

– Protein: about 17%, Lipids: ≤9%, Carbohydrates: 75%

– Sucrose (75%), animal by-product (20%). Naturally rich in minerals.
