Ordinary glass test tube, 16x150mm, for experiments or ant breeding.

Thicker and stronger than the 16x160mm version.

Indeed, this test tube, sold empty, then allows, with a third of water retained by tightly packed cotton, the rearing of queens and young colonies.

The advantage of glass test tubes over plastic is clear:

– No static electricity generation, which is bothersome for ants
– Perfectly transparent, ideal for observation
– Scratch-resistant
– Good break resistance (plastic tubes are actually brittle)
– Very smooth, allowing cotton to easily slide into the tube and into the water reservoir
