Storage at the Hive:
All our products are stored in a warehouse near Lyon, shared between several e-commerce companies and organized like an ultra-optimized anthill. The products we manufacture or purchase from our suppliers are centralized. Each time they arrive, they are identified, recorded in a computer system and stored in cells chosen according to their dimensions. The web store is then up to date with the stock actually available. La Ruche is closed to the public, insured and video-monitored. Costs are shared to benefit from professional tools such as flow management software normally reserved for larger websites…
Delivery time :
- Equipment marked “in stock” often even faster).
- The ants are carefully prepared, fed, packaged and delivered to the logistics team during the next convoy, usually the week after purchase. For urgent delivery, call us.
- “To order” material must be manufactured and supplied to the warehouse, which indicates a variable lead time .
Attention: For their safety, we do not ship ants not above 29°C and below 5° C , either from Grenoble or on arrival at your home. We keep your order on hold and take care of the ants until the temperature allows a shipment. For faster shipping by express or with insulated packaging, please contact us.
Order preparation:
Yeepa! We have just received your order. The workers will be busy preparing your package in less time than it takes to say. First, we check the contents of the order and pick your items. They are wrapped in recyclable cardboard, wedged with paper, and sealed with starch-reinforced paper tape. The whole process is filmed to find the slightest preparation error.
The package is then franked and the carriers' trucks arrive at the chain around 3 p.m. to collect the day's shipments. Thanks to the workers of Fourmiculture, the expedition is the same day before 3 p.m. in the majority of cases.
The delivery of your package:
We deliver your package by the carrier of your choice:
– La Poste (bubble envelope or Colissimo), time after shipment: 48 hours.
– DPD against signature, time after shipment: approximately 24 hours
– Chronopost against signature, time after shipment: 24 hours guaranteed
– Mondial Relay, time after shipment: 3-4 days
– Mazet transport, time after shipment: 3-5 days on pallet by truck by appointment for fragile equipment.
Reminder: The time indicated corresponds to the carrier's delivery time. It only applies from the moment the package has been shipped.
And the ants in all this?
Our breeding is located in Grenoble, capital of the Alps and great place of innovation. We proceed every week to the maintenance of the ants, to the feeding and to the preparation of the orders of ants. Each week, we drop off the ants ordered the previous week at the warehouse. Our logistics team prepares the shipments of ants, as well as mixed orders including equipment and ants.
It is possible that shipments in winter or summer may be delayed to ensure the safety of ants. We also have the option of adding insulated packaging as an option for customers in a hurry.
