Description

The 5w heating mat is the easiest way to heat your Artificial Anthill. The Fourmiculture 5w 14x15cm heating mat is enough to raise the temperature to more than 28°C inside the nest. Also ideal for heating up to 7 test tubes of 16x160mm.

A 14x15cm heating mat is suitable for all Artificial Anthills thin enough to allow heat to pass through (those made of Plexiglas in particular), test tubes and vivariums depending on the thickness of the substrate. We recommend heating the nest from above so as not to risk generating condensation. To go further, you can consider an adjustable desk lamp with one of our ceramic bulbs to heat up without illuminating or interfering with observations.

If your anthill measures more than 20cm on a side, it is advisable to opt for a larger heating mat. However, it is not necessary to heat the entire surface of the habitat and heating the wet part of the nest will create annoying condensation.

We do not offer heating mats with an integrated thermostat because these do not allow us to meet our safety criteria. Please follow the instructions provided in order to properly manage the temperature of your breeding.

Economy:
This system is economical because the heat is very well used. For example, a 40 watt desk lamp costs €12 per year in electricity and €8 for a 25 watt bulb compared to only €1.61 for our carpet!

Calculation based on use of 8 hours per day with a cost per kilowatt of €0.11. Take the test!

Technology :

– Ultra-thin and flexible carpet,

– Infrared emitting technology using carbon fibers,

– Durable product and CE and RoHS standards (European directive against certain dangerous products),

– Lifetime of 30,000 hours and more!

How to use the 5w heating mat:

– Lay the heating mat over half of the wet area. In order to block the excess heat, imperatively place a dozen sheets of aluminum between the heating mat and the anthill, or use a spacer to allow the heat to escape.

– We recommend monitoring the temperature with our electronic thermometer, or controlling it to the nearest degree with a thermostat.

– Adjust the temperature by managing the distance between the heating mat and the Anthill using wedges or removing or adding insulation.

-If the ants take shelter away from the heated area, it means that the temperature is too high. Add insulation or shim. If the ants go just under the heating mat, remove an aluminum foil to check if the optimum temperature is even higher.

Caution: Keep away from any flammable material. Avoid leaving unattended. Do not obstruct the evacuation of heat and place directly under a vivarium (or use a wedge allowing the evacuation of heat). Do not puncture, expose to moisture, bend or cut the mat.

Guaranteed 2 years.
