Description

The 7w heating mat is the easiest way to heat your Artificial Anthill. The Fourmiculture 7w 15x28cm heating mat is enough to raise the temperature to more than 28°C inside the nest! Also ideal for heating up to 16 test tubes of 16x160mm.

A 15x28cm mat is suitable for all Artificial Anthills thin enough to let heat through (those made of Plexiglas in particular), test tubes and vivariums depending on the thickness of the substrate. In any case, we recommend heating the nest from above so as not to risk generating condensation.

If your anthill measures more than 20cm on a side, it is advisable to opt for a larger carpet. However, it is not necessary to heat the entire surface of the habitat and heating the wet part of the nest will create annoying condensation.

We do not offer mats with an integrated thermostat because these do not allow us to meet our safety criteria. Please follow the instructions to properly manage the temperature of your breeding.

Instructions for use of the 7w heating mat:

– Always control the temperature with a Thermo Control II thermostat from Lucky Reptiles or a thermometer.

– Without a thermostat, wait several hours for the maximum temperature to be reached before installing your ants and adjust it by managing the distance between the mat and the anthill using wedges or a little insulation.

– Do not heat the wet area from below as this may create condensation

– The actual temperature inside the Plexiglas Anthill is 1 to 3°C lower than that measured on the other side of the glass. It is therefore advisable to place the probe inside the anthill (if possible).

– Avoid placing the mat directly under the feeding area of a model such as the Artemis to avoid the risk of overheating.

As with any technology, be very attentive to the temperature during the first uses if you do not use a thermostat!

Economy :

This system is economical because the heat is very well used. For example, a 40 watt desk lamp costs €12 per year in electricity and €8 for a 25 watt bulb compared to only €2.25 for our carpet!

Calculation based on use of 8 hours per day with a cost per kilowatt of €0.11. Take the test!

Technology :

– Ultra-thin and flexible carpet,

– Infrared emitting technology using carbon fibers,

– Durable product and CE and RoHS standards (European directive against certain dangerous products),

– Lifetime of 30,000 hours and more!

Caution: Keep away from any flammable material. Avoid leaving unattended. Do not obstruct the evacuation of heat and place directly under a vivarium (or use a wedge allowing the evacuation of heat). Do not puncture, expose to moisture, bend or cut the mat.
