The Majora Model 1 Artificial Anthill makes it possible to successfully rear ants directly with a large colony or to raise a small one to near-maximum size without changing habitat over the years, regardless of its species. 3 to 16mm long.

A mineral layer is molded into the bottom of the chambers for effective moisture management. It provides natural support for ants and a good bacteriological balance. The anthill remains healthy over the long term and the ants develop there optimally. The stone-based material used is ultra-smooth, absorbent and resistant.

With its neat design and large transparent surface, it is ideal when the enhancement of ants is desired, at home or for presentation to the public.

 

Ant-farming design and quality.

Our goal is to combine the well-being of the ants and the pleasure of the breeder because one does not go without the other. Our research has therefore been pushed to the limit on the materials to be used and the technologies to be implemented.

Each Majora Model 1 represents a long work of machining and concentrates all our experience in order to ensure its bacteriological balance and its durability, while respecting the needs of ants.

We have equipped it with a thermometer with a dedicated location for the probe, mineral soil at the bottom of the chambers, numerous water tanks for efficient management (autonomy: three weeks), 2 integrated feeding areas (optional: anti- -virtually effective adhesive), 4 connecting holes, and other details ensuring its reliability. We can therefore be proud of each Majora when it leaves our workshop.

 

Its style and quality allow it to be easily integrated into its user. Its elongated proportions facilitate the observations and the placement of the Anthill on a piece of furniture, as well as the possible addition of an Observation Space. It is lightweight for its size, durable and ruggedly designed.

Unconstrained development for a future megalopolis.

Visually, the Majora offers an extraordinary spectacle and makes it possible to follow the ceaseless activity of a colony of ants with its queen. The larger the colony, the greater the activity and the more varied the behaviors. Species like Messor will be able to develop the largest majors (“soldiers”) and most species will have the ability to create new queens once the population is sufficient.

All the activity of the colony usually invisible in the underground chambers is revealed through the perfectly transparent glass and its secret organization takes place freely there: management of food, laying, brood care... The height of about 1cm is suitable for larger species as well as smaller ones.

The Majora's many chambers are cut from food-grade Plexiglas and designed in a pattern inspired by natural anthills. Their generous dimensions allow a very large colony to flourish there. It is also possible to install a small colony there so that it develops there for a long time without having to move it to a larger habitat over the years. Two main corridors supply the chambers with workers in order to make the best use of the space while maximizing the activity of the ants

Patented humidification system for perfect conditions.
Essential point of a well-designed Artificial Anthill, the Majora's humidification system consists of a revolutionary humidifier. We developed it and patented it at the INPI.

Adjustable to 10 levels, you will be able to modulate the humidity level according to the size of the colony and its needs (low for Messor, medium for Lasius).
For small colonies, moistening only one side is sufficient. To make the anthill habitable, nothing could be simpler:
1/ Fill one of the transparent tanks provided,
2/ Place it under one of the wicks of the anthill for absorption.
3/ The mineral soil located in the rooms becomes wet in ‹1h.

Humidity levels are easy to monitor thanks to the dark tint of the humidity chambers and the water level in the reservoirs.

Two integrated feeding areas and mastered technology.

In order to feed your ants and observe their behavior outside the chambers, the Majora Anthill is equipped with two triangular Feeding Areas made from a single piece of aluminium. They are accessible through a ventilated laser-cut cover. Each time a different decor is made by hand, inspired by nature.

An access ramp allows ants to move from the rooms to the feeding areas in order to collect food and evacuate waste. It is possible to alternate between the two feeding areas, compare the attractiveness of two food sources, clean one while the other remains in operation, etc.

Their high walls have the advantage of preventing ants from climbing, even in the absence of the cover, thanks to two technologies that we offer:

1/ Standard: a film of talc applied before shipping.
It can last a few weeks or months depending on the size of the colony and is easily renewed with a brush. 2/ Optional: the application of strips of glass on the walls, cut by hand with extreme precision. They receive a non-stick treatment with almost permanent effectiveness. It is probably the smoothest coating ever created in the industry. However, it is sensitive to moisture and dirt. Completion may take a few days.

Wishing to propose a third solution to extend the external environment of ants and facilitate breeding, we have developed external feeding areas called Observation Spaces. They are connected by a pipe and allow new observations. Our non-stick treatment is applied under the protection of a high frame for absolute efficiency.

4 connecting holes for extended possibilities.

Modular, the Majora anthill can connect to another anthill if the first one is completely colonized, although the ants naturally adapt to the available space.
Many possibilities exist to develop your installation, such as connecting an Observation Space, without competing with the other connection holes. These are placed in number of 2 at the front and 2 on the sides with a trap system developed by Fourmiculture. Made to last.

The Majora Model 1 is removable because simply bolted. Its feeding areas are easily accessible for cleaning and even replaceable. We offer spare parts (cover, chambers, glass) and a refurbishment service for an advantageous price if you want to restore it to its full splendor after a few years.
