For poorly heated apartments, we recommend adding an optional ceramic bulb for an optimal temperature during the year (27°C during the day) and putting the ants in winter for 2-3 months at 8-17°C in winter.

Exciting observations in the moss substrate: Observations are easy and the colony grows throughout the season with the birth of new workers. The thickness of the substrate is adapted to the species to prevent them from hiding inside. The observations are preserved, all the life of the colony usually invisible underground unfolds in front of you, vertically. Unlike the Combi nest, the substrate is made of foam from a single plate that is easy to install.

Integrated ants: colony of ants raised by us, with a queen, eggs and a good population: indeed, for this top-of-the-range kit, we select the largest colonies. The transport of the ants takes place in a tube suitable for transport, ready to connect to the anthill to proceed with the move. We guarantee a healthy transport and delivery thanks to our Antsafe packaging.

We are recognized by the veterinary services and select the most beautiful colonies from our breeding (sometimes over a year old). All that remains is to take care of it according to the Guide du Parfait Antculteur provided!

Easy maintenance: The colony lives with little care because the Messor feed on provided seeds that they store in the dry part of the nest, and draw from their grain loft as needed! Be careful though: moisture management is important, do not pour too much water on the side where the seeds are stored. A vented glass lid is provided and a frame is also available to apply anti-escape product underneath, ensuring easy access and good ventilation (very important).

Regarding the humidity, it is enough to keep the substrate moist using the pipette directly on the substrate (never let it dry) on about half of the nest. And we recommend placing a lamp (bulb not supplied) near the nest, monitored by the thermometer, to provide an ideal temperature for the growth of the larvae (27°C during the day). In winter, the colony must remain cool for 2 to 3 months (8-17°C) to ensure its winter rest. For a species active in winter, contact us.
