Description

Fourmiculture presents its creation: Medium artificial anthill Model 3

Built on its replaceable humidifier in reinforced plaster and milled Plexiglas base, the Medium provides healthy natural support to ants for optimal development. It also offers:

• Precise humidity management with 2 different reservoirs and 4 humidity zones,
• a feeding area with a long-lasting standard anti-escape coating (without oil or talc.
• Very high quality manufacturing in France from 100% French and EU parts and raw materials.
• Often copied, never equalled.

A spacious habitat with natural rooms.

Inspired by natural anthills to optimize their use, the chambers are cut from food-grade Plexiglas to give them height. They are numerous to allow a colony to develop there for a long time, whatever its species from 3 to 16mm long. The long central tunnel with two exits to the feeding area maximizes ant activity and improves space utilization.

A thin sheet of fluorescent red Plexiglas® in the shape of the rooms has been added at ground level. The fluorescence of this material consists of absorbing invisible UV rays and transforming them into visible red light. The result is exceptional luminosity and an extraordinary design.

The red plate is covered with a thicker matte black Plexiglas® plate, finally covered by the laser-cut glass. All of these plates are bolted to the mineral humidifier.

The glass is cleanable and replaceable, guaranteed for 30 years against yellowing and extremely transparent with 92% light transmission. All of these plates are bolted to the mineral humidifier.

The height is suitable for the largest species as well as the smallest and can accommodate more than a thousand Messor or thousands of Pheidole (equivalent to more than two years of development, then the population stabilizes).

Two Humidity Levels - Innovative hybrid humidifier.

The humidification system of the Medium consists first of 2 foam pads in which to inject the water. Then, the moisture is absorbed by the mineral floor of the chambers and will make 2 damp chambers on the left and 3 damp chambers on the right. Thus, the ants can choose the humidity they need, which allows the Medium to adapt to almost all species.

Standard permanent anti-escape – Hand-decorated feeding area.

In order to feed your ants, the Medium Anthill is equipped with a revolutionary rectangular Feeding Area.

Its white walls are treated with a non-stick product specially formulated in the United States to make them impossible to climb.

This non-toxic and ultra-slippery product lasts as long as the walls are protected from dirt, fingerprints and humidity (up to several months or years).

We strongly advise leaving the lid open to evacuate moisture and enjoy the best observations. If the coating wears out in the future, the cover can be placed or the coating redone using a simple applicator.

On the lid, an engraving authenticates our creation and laser-cut micro-grids renew the air so that the ants feel free.

Each time a different decor is made by hand, inspired by nature. It includes natural elements such as stabilized plants, rocks, roots, ochres... Your ants will love to explore it in search of food and it too is replaceable to renovate your anthill in the future.

Smart link system. Open or closed?

The Medium has everything to please the Ants but it is not limited to that. Thanks to our new intelligent connection system, it is possible to go further and complete it with an Observation Space, connect a second Anthill or any accessory compatible with a 9mm pipe.

This factory-made connection system is reliable and practical thanks to its 2-position partitions (Open or Closed) which replace the usual rubber stoppers. This system even makes it possible to manage traffic without disconnecting the accessory in place (external feeding area, tube, etc.): simply turn the partition in one direction or the other to authorize or prohibit passage! Ideal for extending the environment of your ants.

An anti-stress Hyperfilter for your Ants (optional).

Ants live comfortably in ambient light. However, in case of strong light or during your working day, you can choose to put your ants in darker conditions thanks to an innovative optical filter.

Made of Fluorescent Plexiglas®, the Hyperfilter absorbs light and transmits part of it by fluorescence effect through the edge. The remaining light that passes through the filter is barely visible to ants who cannot distinguish red and feel protected.

Observation space optional.

In order to extend the external environment of the ants and facilitate breeding, we have developed external feeding areas called Observation Spaces. They are connected by a pipe and allow new observations. Our non-stick treatment is applied under the protection of a high frame for absolute effectiveness guaranteed for life.

Sustainable and eco-designed.

The Medium is removable because simply bolted. Its feeding area is easily accessible for cleaning. We offer spare parts (cover, glass, mineral floor) if you want to restore it to its full shine after a few years.
