Description
Real Honeydew 10ml – an ideal natural product for ants.
It is a natural product that we have refined after numerous tests in our laboratory and that we have transformed into a food very well accepted by ants. Indeed, unprocessed aphid honey, in its original concentrated form, is not well accepted by ants and their metabolism.
Our honeydew was harvested from the wild and unpolluted mountain forests of Bulgaria. Honeydew is only produced for a very limited period, about two months in summer. It is therefore very rare. Due to the specific characteristics of the forest floor and the climate, existentially important nutrients have been stored in the leaves of the trees, which are taken up by aphids. That's what makes this honeydew mix so desirable to ants.
Use:
Place on a cup or aluminum foil. The amount of food should be consumed in about 3 days.
Description:
Honeydew, unlike flower honey, comes from the secretions of plant-sucking insects such as aphids. Honeydew is a favorite food source for many insects such as ants, bees and even bumblebees. Bees and bumblebees lick it off the leaves or needles of different trees. Ants like Lasius niger regularly guard aphids. They even defend them against predators and carry them to new shoots.
Honeydew is liked by ants mainly because of its somewhat different components. The main sugars in honeydew are sucrose and fructose, but there are also, in lesser amounts, maltose, trehalose, melezitose, raffinose and other oligosaccharides. Besides sugars and water, honeydew also contains amino acids, minerals, trace elements, adenosine phosphates and other ingredients such as vitamins, which are of vital importance.
Uses:
For honey-eating ant species (Meliphagidae).
Not suitable for Messor. It is a sweet complementary food.
Also offer protein-rich foods to your ants nearby. It can be offered to animals in the active state.
As the humidity reduces the sugar concentration and a fermentation process begins, the food should be replaced every 3 days. Thoroughly clean the bowl or tube before reuse. An opened package must be used tightly closed until the date indicated (expiration date).
